Blessed on a Rainy Weekend

This past weekend we had a lot of rain. Hurricane Patricia blew in and she blessed us with some much needed rain that we have been needing here in Texas. With the rain, it means that more than likely, you will be spending all your time indoors. Walker and William, both LOVE going outside to play. So when the rain came in and it was projected to not stop raining until later Sunday evening, I was curious as to how the weekend was going to go. Would they get a little stir crazy? Would Mommy and Daddy feel a little stir crazy too? Could we get a little cabin fever ... Which would lead to becoming cranky? But, as it turns out, the Boys had a pretty great weekend. We haven't had very many weekends at home lately and when we do, they don't normally consist of being inside all day long. You could say, we were pretty lazy this weekend. But I feel like that is just what we needed.

Now, I'm not saying we are perfect and my children are perfect, but over the weekend I could not help but feel this overwhelming feeling of just being happy and content. I often have that feeling, of happiness. However, there have been times that I do feel overwhelmed and exhausted and just wanting and needing a break. But over the weekend it was really refreshing just to look at my family and Thank God for all he has blessed me with.

The boys were so well behaved. They played together well, and entertained each other. While at the same time playing by themselves and having a little bit of "me" time. They watched a few of their favorite movies (we can't get enough of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse right now), ran around the house, read books, snuggled, played ring around the rosy a dozen times, and danced. William even helped Mommy with some laundry. Yes, we still had some fits (we're two, y'all), and crying because we didn't get our way or our brother took something from us, but through it all I was just feeling blessed. All I ever wanted to be when I grew up was a Mom. Not sure if that sounds insane or not, but my whole life, I have always just wanted to be a Mom. And the fact that I get to be Walker and William's Mom is amazing. Good things come to those who wait, and I feel like that could not be more true for Matt and I. I often wonder if all parents have this overwhelming feeling of love for their Children because it is honestly, one of the most amazing feelings I have ever experienced and it's not like I just had these feelings over the weekend. It is a constant feeling that I have. God if good, y'all. So good. And he has blessed us in the most Gracious way. My Boys are happy and healthy and they love their Mommy and Daddy.

I wanted to share a few videos of the Boys running around and being silly on Saturday night. The Aggies weren't playing well, so Walker and William were all the entertainment I needed that night.

On Sunday Night, we ended a relaxing, rainy fall weekend, curled up on the couch together watching; It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Our Monsters Turn 2!

In the beginning of September, our little guys turned 2! I can not believe it. How has it already been 2 years since I have held my itty bitty babies for the first time? I think about how 2 years ago, I experienced love at first site X2. I love these two guys more and more each and everyday. Yes, they are two and yes, they can be difficult but at the same time, they amaze me more and more every moment I am around them. I constantly feel like I can't get enough.

This picture makes me laugh ...
I tried to get the "perfect" Birthday picture of them to mark their 2nd Birthday, and this is what I got. It's like they are saying "welcome to the terrible twos"

Their Birthday landed on a Thursday, and unfortunately we did have to go to work and school, but we were able to come home a little bit earlier than usual. We waited for Daddy to come home and we went to the Boys' favorite place to eat dinner ... Chick-Fil-A! I'm glad that Walker and William love Chick-Fil-A so much, because I really like it too! And then afterwards, we went and bought them a new pair of shoes (that were a gift from Nana and Papa). After that, we planned on taking them to get Frozen Yogurt, but I think they had a long day and were just ready to go home, so we spent some family time at the house.

The Sunday after their Birthday, we had a Birthday Party - A Monster Party! I've said it before, Pinterest is awesome and I am thankful that I was able to gather so many ideas from that website to decorate. I've been pursuing a new job position at work, so I didn't have as much time to do all the DIY projects I wanted to, but for the most part, I think it all turned out pretty great! And since I didn't have time to make everything I wanted to, Oriental Trading came to my rescue, and they had a pretty great monster theme collection.

The Boys made out pretty well with all the gifts they got too! Two new pairs of shoes each, bouncy toys, bikes, paint and colors, and much more! They still do not care to open the gifts that they received, but luckily their older cousins don't mind helping them out with that!
