Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving! I love getting together with family and now with having the boys, I enjoy when our family gets to see the boys and meet them for the first time (for those who haven't met them yet). I know each year will become more and more fun with them as they get older.

Every year we go to Matt's Grandparent's house to celebrate Thanksgiving. We don't get to see that side of the family often so it's nice to see everybody at least once a year. It's a busy day since we just make a day trip to Georgetown and then head back home, but the Boys did really great in the car. We also had Aunt Patti and Uncle Shawn ride with us as well, and I think that made the ride better.

It's so crazy what a difference a year makes though. I remember last year being so stressed out about the Boys feeding schedules while being away from home and having to pack SO MUCH stuff for just a day trip. But this year, wasn't like that. Just have to pack a few things and we're good to go!

He was being silly.

Reveille Comes to School!

A few weeks ago, we had a special visitor come to our school. Texas A&M's mascot, Miss Reveille came to visit all the kids. One of the Girls that works for us at the Daycare, came in to the office one afternoon and told us that she was friends with Reveille's Handler and that he was wanting to bring Reveille to our school one day for all the kids to meet her - and he is the famous Cadet that also saved Reveille during the football game from getting ran over by a football player, so it was cool to meet him too! It was such a cool experience, just for the adults that I know the kids at school really had a good time too. She is seriously the SOFTEST dog I have every touched. I was surprised though that the Boys did not take a liking towards her. Penny, our dog is much bigger, and any other dog they come around they seem to like but with Reveille they weren't sure how to act. Maybe because there was just so much going on. I think they seemed to like Ryan's (Reveille's Handler) uniform more than anything, because they just kept staring at him. I was able to get a few pictures of the Boys with Reveille though, and some with all three of us.

Halloween

Oh Halloween, it's such a crazy day. At least it is when you work at a Daycare. I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself "Thank you JESUS, Halloween is on a Friday!". Kids are just insane and then they are just grumpy and tired the next day. But with all the insaneness, I was pretty excited to celebrate Halloween this year with the Boys. Last year they were too tiny to do anything for Halloween and I didn't really want to spend money on a costume that they would just wear so that I could get a picture, so instead I just bought them Halloween shirts and they still looked adorable. But this year was a different story. This year the Boys dressed up as Minions from the movie Despicable Me. They LOOOOVE that movie and any time the Minions come on they just smile and laugh at them, so I figured that would be the best twin costume for them - I've got to take advantage of the "twin Halloween costumes" while I can, because sooner or later I won't be able to. My Mom also made them the cutest hats to go along with their costumes and I think the hats are what make the costume perfect! And to my surprise, the Boys love to wear them!

We didn't really do much though. We took them to a friend's house so that they could see the Boys' and they got some applesauce instead of candy, which is awesome! And then we stopped by to visit Aunt Patti and Uncle Shawn. It was just the low key kind of Halloween night I was happy with, after the insane day we had at work. And I think it was just enough for the Boys as well, because by the end of it they were so exhausted from the day too. However, I know my busy Halloween nights are coming.

Grocery Shopping

Every time we take the Boys to the Grocery Store, they tend to get quite a bit of attention. I mean, come on look at 'em! They're stinkin cute! But it truly is surprising to me how many people are in aw over Twins. I feel like before I had twins of my own, I wasn't like that. Maybe because I have twins in my family, I have always seen it as a "normal" (because it is) thing. But so many people always find the need to stop us and talk to me or the Boys. Asking questions about their age, if they're a handful, making some sort of comment of how I have my hands full. Well, yesterday morning I took the Boys to HEB with me (they're surprisingly really well behaved when I take them. Maybe because there's so much to look at?), and of course it was the same as always with people stopping us to talk and ask questions. One lady even asked if they were 6 months old ... Huh??? - do you see the size of Walker? But the cutest little boy, that I'm guessing was about 3 years old stopped us and asked if he could pet them. Oh my goodness! I thought that was just the funniest thing. His Mom informed him that no, he could not pet them because they were not animals but that he could wave and tell them hi. Cracked me up! A little bit later as we were walking, William started poking Walker in the eye and they both started giggling. It was so sweet, because I was really worried Walker was going to start screeming at him. But they both just kept on laughing. People probably thought I was an obsessive Mom because I stopped in the aisle to take pictures of them. Oh well. I can't helps it, they're just too stinkin cute not to!

A Proud Best Friend

My Beautiful Best Friend's Wedding was featured in story board weddings online. It's a short and sweet little article but the few pictures featured on the website are amazing. It was such a beautiful Wedding.

Weekend at Nonie & Pawpaw's

Last Friday was my Dad's (Pawpaw) Birthday, so we packed up and headed to their house for the Weekend for his Birthday. Friday night we met my Parents in Bastrop at my Dad's favorite restaurant, Guadalajara's. My parents go there just about every Friday night and it is the funniest thing, walking in and seeing all the people who know them, that work at the restaurant. Then my Parents will ask for the same waiter every time, so of course the waiter knows them really well too, and he is the sweetest guy so he just makes your experience there that much better (I'm sure that's why my parents love it so much, not to mention that the food is pretty good too). My Mom was able to secretly tell the Waiter that it was my Dad's Birthday, so they sang him "Happy Birthday" and we got free sopapillas. MMM ....

On Saturday we went and visited my Mimi and Gee. We hadn't seen them in a few months and so we wanted to catch up. We didn't do much, just sat and talked as we watched the Boys' play. I love that my Grandparents get to share that time with them. Not many Great Great Grandparents get to do that.

Later, we went back to my Parents' house and watched the Aggies get the crap beat out of them by Alabama. That's okay though, we still love our Aggies! WHOOP! We had dinner and my Grandma & Grandpa got to come by for a little bit too (they live right next door to my Mom and Dad).

Sunday Morning we woke up with the prettiest Sunrise while drinking Coffee, I had to take a picture of it!

Then my Sister, Alisha and the rest of her family came over to Nonie and Pawpaw's house and we all ate breakfast together. Breakfast was always a big deal to us growing up. No matter what, we always sat and ate breakfast together. Even on the Mornings that we had school. Not many people do that anymore and I hope that I can carry on that daily routine with the Boys too, but I don't see how my Parents did it. I guess we'll see ... Anyways, after breakfast Walker and William got to go see the chickens for the first time and ride in the Mule! Walker was pretty intrigued by the chickens and kept wanting me to put him down, but since they don't walk yet I didn't want to. William didn't know what to think about the chickens and when I did have him stand while I held onto him, he did not like it very much - That's okay Buddy, I don't really care for chickens either.

After feeding the Chicks, we went on a mule ride! I'm thinking the Mule ride is the best part of feeding the chickens for the Grandkids. I mean, I think it's pretty fun too!!! My Parents live on 35 acres so you've got a good area to ride around on. The boys enjoyed sitting on our laps and watching everything around us. I think it was pretty relaxing for them both because they almost fell asleep and then when we got back inside they both took a little cat nap.

So relaxing

I always love going back home. I can't wait for when Walker and William get a little bigger and can understand when I tell them, "we're going to Nonie and Pawpaw's this weekend!", because I know they'll be so excited!

BUBBLES!!!

The other night as I started the Boys' bath, I thought it would be fun to have them take a bubble bath. They LOOOVED it! In the beginning it was so cute to watch them just kind of stare at the bubbles. It was like they were thinking "what is this???" And then as we got them to touch the bubbles, that was when the Boys really started to enjoy it. The cutest thing was Walker laughing at the bubbles. I guess he finds them funny? And of course he tried to eat the bubbles a few times too. William really liked splashing them with his hands. I think he liked seeing that when he splashed the bubbles, he could see the clear water.
